Hydraulic elevators consist of a piston that is moved inside a cylinder using hydraulic oil. The electric motor pumps hydraulic oil into the cylinder to move the piston. In turn, the piston smoothly raises the elevator car. Electric valves control oil pumping for smooth launch. Hydraulic elevators are widely used in buildings with floors ranging from 5 to 6 floors, and may be used – but rarely – in buildings with 8 floors. These lifts feature smooth, coordinated movement that prevents any disturbance.
